Yasmin Acne Treatment
Yasmin Acne Treatment
Acnocin Dianette co-cyprindiol pill, what pill (yasmin, celeste, microgynon) is recommend after finishing?
I have been put on acnocin (same pill as dianette or co-cyprindiol) to sort out my unbalanced testosterone levels and acne. 5 weeks in and so far it has been excellent, sorted my PMT symptoms, no mood swings, no side effects, i feel balanced, happy and stable all the time unlike before when i had aggression and mood swings over little situations. My skin settled down within a few weeks and my hair is less oily so i am really happy with the results.
My question is that my consultant dermatologist who prescribed it said he would only be putting me on it short-term until my problems are sorted and i have to see him in 2 months time. I love being on the pill and was wondering which is best to switch on to after finishing my acnocin/dianette treatment.
This is the first pill i have been on so dont have any experience of any others. Is there a similar pill that is good for skin and the problems i had?
There are a few options. Basically, you don't want to be on any of the "second generation pills" - logynon, microgynon, ovranette, loestrin. They all tend to make acne worse.
The "third generation pills" - Yasmin, Femodene and Marvelon are your best options when you come off Dianette, they are all better for skin problems.
But just ask your gynaecologist/GP (whether you're in the USA/UK) which pill would be best for you - let them know that you were treated for acne with Dianette and it suited you really well and tell them you want something similar.

Yasmin Birth Control Pill in the News
Are there any other treatments for PCOS?
Ladies with PCOS, is their anything else you have tried that has helped reduce the symptoms? I am currently on birth control (Zarah, it's the generic form of Yasmin which I think is not working as well as the name brand), and taking ACE vitamins. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian (though I'll admit that I have a serious carb and sweet tooth, which I know doesn't help me) and I try to work out five to six days a week to keep my weight down. However, I'm still having problems with acne, weight gain and unwanted hair growth.
I know it's a hormonal imbalance, but how can I help my body out more? Should I give up dairy products? Is there another supplement I should try? I need a little more help than my doctors are willing to give.
I am on the birth control pill Dianette which is amazing
I suggest trying that, as i lost weight with it, (but my boobs were an alright side which is a +s) also it helps out with acne and hair growth its amazing
although when u stop taking it for your monthly period the hormonal levels go crazy and moods go up and down its the worse part
Good Luck
