Zinc Fish Oil Acne

Am I taking too many vitamins?

I'm wondering whether any of you can help me out here, and let me know if I'm taking too many vitamins.

This is what I'm currently taking: (I'm a 19 year old female by the way.)

10,500 IU - Vitamin A (8,000 IU from a capsule, 2,500 IU from multi-vitamin)
1,030 IU - Vitamin E (1,000 IU from capsule, 30 IU from multi-vitamin)
58 mg - Zinc (50 mg from tablet, 8 mg from multi-vitamin)
5,150 mcg - Biotin (5,000 mcg from tablet, 150 mcg from multi-vitamin)
1,000 mg - Fish Oil
I take a B-Complex tablet sometimes, but I seem to get rid of it quickly.. so I figured my body wasn't really absorbing it.

The multi-vitamin I take is Shaklee Vita-Lea (I only take 1 tablet instead of 2.) Also, I take Vitamin A, E and Zinc because I have acne prone skin, and that seems to help me out. My diet is pretty healthy, but I've also been lacking in Vitamin A. Again, I mostly take these supplements for my skin. Please let me know if it's too much. Thanks!

Truthseeker is right that the multivitamin is within the normal RDA, but the totals of what you are taking are well above the RDA. For some of those nutrients (especially Vitamin A, Biotin, and Fish Oil), those are very normal and beneficial doses... but that kind of dosage of Vitamin E might be way too much and the Zinc is higher than average. Vitamin E is commonly recommended up to 400 IU unless someone is deficient and Zinc varies from 15-50 mg recommendations depending on need. You may want to have your doctor check your level of those two nutrients to make sure they aren't too high... those two can build up to toxic levels if you take too much for too long.

Like I said, the Vitamin A is a good dose if it's all Beta Carotene, the Biotin is a normal and nominal dose, and the Fish Oil is okay (even a bit low compared to normal recommendations). If you're taking a B Complex, that would be good as well, but the B Vitamins are water soluble so they will leave the system within a few hours (unless it's a time released tablet)... that's perfectly normal and the body will absorb as much as it needs.
Good luck and I hope I helped!

the flax and fish oil may actually contribute to your acne by increasing oil production. (i broke out like mad when i took flax oil). the exercise, water, and high fiber diet are all helpful to weight loss and may help w/ acne by cleansing your system. vitamin e may be helpful for reduction of free radicals, but will not make you as oily. i'm not sure about the skinactix system, as the web site does not list the active ingredients. everyone is different, but sulfur based spot treatments have worked best for me.
